With over 300 days of sunshine annually, the mild climate in Brighton allows for year-round recreation. Are you a park enthusiast? There are over 960 acres of municipal parkland including neighborhood, community, special-use, and natural resource parks. Throw in another 34 miles of trails, 20 athletic fields, 19 playgrounds, and 600 acres of open space, and you’ve got a lot to play in!
Please check out our list of all the outdoor activities we offer in Brighton and surrounding areas. If you see an activity that we may have missed, please email us and let us know so that we can include them in our growing list.
As Brighton has been named as one of the nation’s 100 Best Communities for Young People, we have also created attractions specific for our youth such as a skate park, a BMX track, a disc golf course, and the Oasis Family Aquatic Park.
Other ways to enjoy your active lifestyle is by walking or riding a bike along the Platte River with Mount Evans providing a scenic backdrop, fishing off the Ken Mitchell pier, or exploring nearby Barr Lake State Park. You may also want to visit a Dog Park complete with its own water adventure, enjoy a round of golf, or join in on the end-of-year Turkey Trot!
