2014 Live at the Armory Concert Series

The “Live at the Armory” concert series was the first of its kind at the Armory Performing Arts Center.  Entertainment of varying genres was spread throughout the 2014 calendar year to provide a little bit of something for everyone. The series has been very successful and visitors to the Armory have expressed their excitement at entertainment of this kind in Brighton.  Without the opportunity to attain Lodging Tax Grant (LTG) dollars, this concert series would not have been possible.  The addition of regional/national entertainment at the Armory has attracted many visitors to the Brighton community. These visitors tend to shop at our local retailers and eat at Brighton restaurants.  The “Live at the Armory” concert series promotes the Brighton community, encourages economic development, and offers a wide variety of cultural arts programming.

The 2013 & 2014 Lodging Tax Advisory Committee has granted the arts & culture community a voice, a feeling of belonging, a resource center, an advocate to share concerns, ideas, projects, an opportunity to speak with each other, from home, from work, or from our cell phones. The calendar allows for co -marketing events, meetings, programs & projects and allows to see what’s going on where and when. This is a tool for the Office of Arts & Culture to track trends in events, timing & seasons.

Image Campaign

The Image Campaign is intended to build on the 2013 Lodging Tax award that resulted in a contract with O’Brien Advertising to develop materials and implement recommendations for a branding campaign for the community of Brighton. The Economic Development Corporation is working in the spirit of collaboration with the Brighton Chamber of Commerce to implement recommendations with the goal of creating a permanent oversight structure to manage branding on behalf of the whole Brighton community. Materials produced are guided by and for the specific benefit of many organizations within the Brighton community, which organizations will be able to utilize Brighton Image Campaign elements in conjunction with their own initiatives. In addition, an overarching Brand Management Organization structure is now easily available to the Brighton Community – Businesses, Cultural Arts initiatives, non-profit organizations and government entities. To date Brighton EDC and the Guidance Committee have executed a media plan that includes billboards, website, social media, and print advertising to promote the community of Brighton. The “It All Grows in Brighton” campaign is a multi-faceted rollout that all businesses and citizens may benefit from.
