The City of Brighton treasures its history, and shows this through acts such as restoring the Bromley / Hishinuma Farm to its former glory.

Historic Downtown
Downtown Brighton boasts one of the state’s original Main Streets. The city was incorporated in 1887; it was voted Adams County seat in 1904 due to its railroad passenger and freight station (now The Depot Restaurant) and highway access (now Highway 85). People came to Downtown Brighton from throughout the region to socialize, shop, and take in entertainment. A monthly Market Day offered fresh farm produce, livestock, and horse races. This rich heritage, and more, provides the foundation for downtown’s current resurgence.
